What's So Special About Morse?
It is a HANDS-ON place to learn in the heart of Sleepy Hollow!

Morse is a special place for two important reasons.  First, our students are at a special stage in their learning careers.  Second, our location in the heart of Sleepy Hollow provides a unique setting for us to study concepts of community, multicultural awareness, and American History.

Our curriculum encourages Morse students to explore the world in a hands-on fashion with natural child-like wonder, and then begin to analyze their discoveries applying more formal study skills.  Most children enter Morse as beginning readers and writers.  As their ability to read grows rapidly, they can be challenged to think critically and report on what they have read.  Second and Third Graders are developmentally ready to discover the joy of formal learning.  Each subject area reflects our commitment to building formal learning skills in an age-appropriate, hands-on learning environment.

Our philosophy is to provide a developmentally appropriate environment that encourages creative, independent and self-motivated learners. Our students will develop emotional, social and intellectual capabilities to their fullest potential. They will become life long responsible citizens who exhibit acceptance, respect and appreciation of a multicultural society.
