Track & Field

Varsity Boys’ Track
The boys had a successful weekend at the Rasbeck Relays.  The team, consisting of Alex Guzzo, Ray Estrella, Kareem Ismail and James Yancey, placed third in the 400m relay and the sprint medley relay.  The boys 800m relay, Malcom McCrae, Marcus McCrae, Ray Estrella, James Yancey, placed second.  Throwers Welinthon Diaz and Manny Gonzalez placed third in the shot put relay.  (Posted 5/16/2006)


Varsity Boys’ Track
On Saturday, May 6th, the boys’ track team competed at the Somers Invitational.  Malcolm McCrae ran a personal best in the mile at 5:26.  His picture was also in the newspaper.  Michael Wu also ran a personal best in the 800 at 2:31.  The League Meet is on Monday, May 8th at Irvington.  (Posted 5/10/2006)


Varsity Girls’ Track
The girls’ track and field team did an outstanding job at their league meet at Irvington on Monday, May 8th.  The girls’ 400-meter relay team, Andrea Geiger, Sarah Kelly, Derronda Williams, and Genevieve Ruppel, received all league honorable mention with a time of 53.1seconds.  Andrea Geiger received her personal best on the 400 meters with a time of 65.4 seconds.  Maddy Federle received her personal best in the 800 meters and the 1500 meters.  Adrienne Merheb and senior Stephanie Gomez also received a personal record for the 1500 meters.  Molly McGovern and Natalie Zaremba received their personal best again for the 100 meters.  Excellent performances by all athletes.  Come support the Lady Horsemen this Saturday @ Irvington for the Rasbeck Relays.  (Posted 5/10/2006)


Modified Track
On May 3rd the Modified Track team had their third meet at Rye.  There were 6 schools involved in the meet.  The entire team did extremely well, with many runners again placing first or second in every race.  Several of the runners finished in the top 4 out of all the schools participating.  Our next meet is on Tuesday, May 9th at Edgemont.  (Posted 5/10/2006)


Varsity Girls’ Track
Congratulations to the girls’ track and field team for their excellent performance at Saturday's meet at the Somers Invitational.  In the girls’ 800-meter relay, Andrea Geiger, Sarah Kelly, Derronda Williams and Genevieve Ruppel, placed 4th in Class B.  Captain Stephanie Gomez received her personal best in the 1500 meters with a time of 5:44.2.  Genevieve Ruppel received her personal best in the 100 meters with a time of 13.2 seconds.   Sarah Kelly also had her personal best in the 100 meters with a time of 14 seconds.  Molly McGovern and Natalie Zaremba did a fantastic job in the 200 meters both setting personal records.  Molly received a 34.5 and Natalie received a 33.4.  In field events, senior Maire Reynolds showed off her talent with a throw of 22'3".  Come support the Lady Horsemen this Saturday, May 13th, @ Irvington.  (Posted May 9, 2006)

Modified Track
The Modified Track team had their second meet at Rye on Wednesday, April 26th.  There were 8 schools involved in the meet.  The entire team did extremely well, with many runners again placing first or second in every race.  Click here to view results,

Varsity Boys’ Track
On Wednesday, April 19th, the boys’ track team did quite well at Irvington.  Malcom McCrae broke the 6-minute barrier in the mile running a personal best 5:56.  Chris Coronel placed 3rd in the 400m in 57.6 seconds.  Also beating their personal best were Ray Estrella (200m) and Michael Wu (800m).  We will be at Croton on Monday, April 24th(Posted 4/26/2006)


Varsity Girls’ Track
The girls’ varsity track team did a great job against Irvington and Pleasantville.  Adrienne Merheb had a personal best in 1500 meters with a time of 7:42.  Maddy Federle had a great 3000-meter race and placed second with a time of 12:47.5.  The girls’ 400-meter relay team, Andrea Geiger, Sarah Kelly, Derronda Williams, and Genevieve Ruppel placed first again with a time of 53.9.   Maire Reynolds had a personal best in the shot put with a throw of 22' 5 3/4 The Lady Horsemen have their next meet at Croton this Monday, April 24th.  (Posted 4/20/2006)

Modified Track
The Modified Track and Field team is ready for another fun and exciting season!  The team consists of 26 runners and field participants, 9 of who are returning sprinters.

Team members are most anxious to demonstrate their athletic prowess in our upcoming meets.  Our first track and field meet will be held on April 20th at Irvington Middle School.  The meet will be at 4:15pm.  The team hopes to see you there!  (Posted 4/20/2006)


Girls’ Track
The girls Varsity track team did an exceptional job against Rye Neck and Albertus Magnus.  Genevieve Ruppel placed first in the 100 meters with a time of 13.3 seconds.  The girls 400-meter relay team,  Andrea Geiger, Ali Federle, Sarah Kelly and Genevieve Ruppel, placed first with a time of 55.8 seconds.  Eighth grader Maddie Federle did a fantastic job in the 800 meters with a time of 2:44.  (Posted 4/20/2006)


Girls Varsity Track Meet
The Girls Varsity Track Team had their first meet against Nanuet and Alexander Hamilton @ Nanuet on Tuesday, March 28th.  Genevieve Ruppel placed first in the 100 meters with a time of 13.8 seconds.  Captain Derronda Williams placed first in the 200 meters with a time of 29.6 seconds.  Andrea Geiger received her personal best in the 400 meters with a time of 66.9 seconds.  The girls 400 meter relay team, Andrea Geiger, Sarah Kelly, Derronda Williams and Genevieve Ruppel  placed first with a time of 54.8 seconds.  Nice performances by all athletes.  The Lady Horsemen have their next meet, Monday April 3rd, @ Rye Neck.


Boys Track Meet
The Boys  Track team did quite well vs. Nanuet and Hamilton.  The Horsemen dominated the sprinting events.  James Yancey placed first in the 100m and 200m sprints.  Chris Coronel won the 400m in a blazing time of 56.4.  The boys 400m Relay team, consisting of Alex Guzzo, Nnamdi Anuforo, Chris Coronel, and James Yancey smoked the competition and won by 30 meters.  The next meet is Monday, April 3rd at Rye Neck HS.


Girls Track
The Girls Track and Field team is off to a great start.  The team consists of about 25 athletes and is lead by our senior captains, Derronda Williams and Stephanie Gomez.  The lady horsemen compete this Tuesday in their first meet at Nanuet.


Boys Track
The Boys Track team is off to a good start.  The team consists of 20 boys this year.  Top returnees James Yancey & Chris Coronel will lead the Horsemen in the sprints and the 400m Relay.  Rookies Alex Guzzo & Walker Cossaboom are great additions to a strong sprinting group.  For the first time in years the boys look strong in the throwing events with Manny Gonzalez.  The team looks to be competitive at each dual meet and striving to place at the top in this year's League Championship.
